As The World Turns…

So, I moved. Big, fat, hairy move that swallowed my free time like Rosanne Barr a Blue Bell factory. I was without my comp for a while, but I’ve been without free time for even longer. No time to blog. No time to write. It sucks. Truly. But – I’m exactly the kind of writer that The Write Crowd is meant for: the writer that can’t afford to pursue his craft fulltime, the writer that has a day job and a real family that expects him to be present both physically and mentally, the writer that may go months without writing because life sometimes gets in the way.
I wish it could be different. In a perfect world, I would have all day every day to spin yarns of fascinating people in far away lands. I would produce 30 pages a day – pages so well-crafted that they would not require a single stroke of an editor’s pen. I would have no less than a dozen novels perched in the NY Times bestseller list each year. There would be movies in production with my name attached as screenwriter as well as a nice producer credit. Yeah. If only.
The world (as you know) is NOT perfect. I do not have unlimited time or resources with which to pursue my passion. I can only do my best – schedule time for myself and my writing. When big things come my way – moving, changing jobs, etc. – I just have to grin and bear it until I can get back to my work. Forgive my, my friends, for this most recent absence. As life slows down, I will be back more frequently with new tales of my journey.
