It was a crazy weekend, only made possible by my beautiful and understanding wife taking on the lion’s share of responsibilities around the house. I got started 30 minutes late due to a nasty line at Jack-in-the-Box, but I worked my butt off and managed to finish the first draft in 52 hours (really more like 46 or so, since I did sleep briefly those two days.) After some sleep and time with my 2 month-old daughter, I spent the last 12 hours of the contest editing.

I would highly recommend that you try it next year. It taught me a lot about discipline and planning that I feel will only make me more prolific. I doubt my crazy book will be a winner, but I had a lot of fun writing it, and I think it’s a fun read if nothing else.

Now, I just need to sleep for three days straight to catch up!
