After being told that “Jesus was a socialist,” DC Comics artist Ethan Van Sciver replied:

“You seem to confuse “Charity” with “Government enforced taxation and redistribution.” None of those scriptures suggest that Jesus supports the latter. He wants you to avoid accumulating wealth while the people around you starve.

I agree with that. It’s the conservative position. We want to spend our money how we wish. Charity is a big part of that. If you are giving up your money simply because you don’t want to go to prison, you aren’t being Christlike.”
