Gene & Donya

Gene is the founder and owner of WriteDaddy.com and serves as its resident wordsmith. He served in fulltime church ministry for over twenty years, holding positions ranging from Youth Minister to Senior Pastor. After leaving fulltime ministry, Gene served as a middle school English teacher for three years.

For five years, Gene wrote an online daily devotional called SoulPurpose, with a readership that topped one thousand subscribers. He has written opinion columns for The Paris News, in Paris, Texas, numerous magazine articles, and thousands of devotionals, sermons and bible studies. In 2002 he published his first novel, The Preacher’s Kid.

In 2007, Gene joined a family-owned group of construction businesses as their chief communications officer, overseeing their marketing, website content and design, and internal and external communications.

 In addition to his work at writedaddy and The Write Crowd, Gene serves as Web Pastor of FirstNetChurch.com, which he and a team of ministers launched January, 2008. As a part of that ministry, he writes a weekday devotional- Java-Jireh.
